Backpacking Chequamegon in Wisconsin?

I'm located in Red Wing, MN and am looking for decent backpacking trails in the Western part of Wisconsin. Ideally I'm hoping to find information on theĀ Chequamegon National Forest. I've been looking online for days now and can't find anything on where a trail starts or where to park. I found some info on backpacker.com but there were no details on the starting point.

Anyone from Wisconsin able to help me here? I'm tempted to just drive up there and wing it, because I'm stumped on helpful info!

I know what you are talking about. I have heard of many trails out here on the Oregon coast, but many of them have no information at all. Even the park rangers are clueless.

In your case, you might want to look up snow mobile, or XC sking trails.

I take many old logging roads.

I live in the Eagle River area, lots of nice spots to get out there. Here are a couple of links for maps.

How about the Ice Age Trail? Anyone have information on where a good place to park and hike without runnning into parking fees or entry fees?
