This morning I was going to hike to Red Hollow "and" Red Cave but the summer heat and soft sand of the route slowed me down and I just did Red Hollow.

Mouse found along wash, it looked like it had been attacked by something, I nudged it and it was still alive making a squeak, but not moving otherwise

I have to work on some of the other shots and will post them later...

I am home now, listening to the thunder in the distant north. The rainy season is coming slowly to the area. August brings Monsoon rains in down pours. Its cooled off now here.

Thanks, Gary!

I don't know the current fire situation in S. Utah: Allowing for that, I've figured for quite some time that S. Utah the best value vacation area for desert scenery, not to mention recreation, in the US--it's magical!

Five mystical National Parks--fittingly, a great white throne of God! Magnificent National Monuments and National Forests. History, tragedy, and victory--animated ancients echo with the winds through Utah's arches and canyons! Heat shimmers fervently from its boulders--it's a dream!

looks like you live in a beautiful area. I couldn't take the heat in the summers though.

Fall and Spring are nice, come in October and April. Been on some nice midwinter hikes when the country was dry. Seen Mtn Lion tracks just a few mile west of where I work.
