This is a little known trek, which follows part of the route taken by George Mallory and others during the 1921 British Reconnaisance Expedition to find a route up Mt Everest. The Kangshung Face is on the north eastern side of Everest, and was assessed by Mallory as "Other men, less wise, might attempt this way if they would, but emphatically, it was not for us."

The nine-day trek crosses two high passes, the Sho La (4,700m) and Langma La (5,330m) and had magnificent views of Lhotse, Everest and the Kangshung Face from Mallory's base camp at Pethang Ringmo. Everest was not climbed by this route until about 1986, by an American team. I have two short videos on YouTube which can be seen at: www.youtube.com/channel/UCy6c_XzMWgleX75WifzCh6Q/videos
