The Sierra North Fork Big Pine Trail

Continuing our conditioning and testing for the thru hike of the John
Muir Trail we took 3 days and 2 nights to go the Sierra. I hoped to
go to Sam Mack Meadow and then on to the Palisades Glacier itself. We
wanted to enter into the John Muir Wilderness on Friday and come out
Sunday. But being FLEXABLE was what this trip was all about. And that
paid off big time for us.
We saw our first snow avalanche, day and night we heard granite
boulders coming loose and causing thier own rock avalanches.
Cautiously avoiding those immediate areas. We were rewarded with the
more peaceful side of the Sierra.
