The American SW is a spectacular place! We spent a week or so in Southern Utah in the Spring of 2008, so in 2009 we wanted to check out AZ. It was a bit of a trouble getting a permit to stay at Bright Angel Campground, but worked out in the end. We had pretty good weather as you can see from the pictures and enjoyed this area very much, and we will be back hiking somewhere in the SW in Spring of 2010! Enjoy.

Nice pictures from all those places you went.

How much does that grille you used for the steaks weigh?

Too heavy :-P

I guess according to the product specs it is ~ 14.5 lbs without the fuel. We paid a bunch to have the mules take it down.

1st week in March I did 4 nights down Hermit Trail and out Bright Angel. Freezing rain and blizzard coming out. Great trip! But, car battery was dead and I'm embarrassed to admit didn't have battery cables. Xanterra employees are prohibited from helping. There was an argument with AAA via nearly dead cell phone about whether they would provide service in the park at all. I have GE Motor Club (AARP) and now I wonder if they provide service inside the national parks. Must give a call.
