This is one spot where the entire McKenzie River pops up out of the ground. This phot was taken from 100 feet up and this spring is huge and deep.

That kinda reminds me of a couple places here in the South East.

One is Virgin Falls, a spectacular oddity where a small river emerges from a cave, immediately drops 115 feet off a cliff, and then disapears again underground into another cave.

In Chickamauga, GA there is a massive spring that boils up in a violent torrent out of the limestone bedrock. The water is perfectly clear and pure, sustaining a rare water plant with ten-foot-long ribbon-like leaves that flow and swirl in the watery maelstrom.

(my apologies for the florid languege, I just couldn't think of any other way to do the places verbal/visual justice)
