Today my roommate, a few of his coworkers and I went on a dayhike to the top of Mt Elden, one of the volcanic mountains near Flagstaff. It was a 2.5 mile hike with an approx. 2000 foot hike up. There was snow left from the last storm a week ago. About half way up the snow began to get about 1-3 inches deep, it was a little icy in places but the midday sun turned much of it to slush. At the top of Mt Elden there was patches of 1-2 feet of snow and was windy. We stay on top about an hour after a 2 hour hike up. We started at 10:30 am and were down around 3:30 pm. It was very warm today down below but was cooler as we neared the top, which was nice to keep us from overheating. We celebrated the crest with Heineken beers I took to share.
Later after I stitch the panoramics together I will post images from the hike and a video or so.
