They are okay. I've taken them out 4 times (including a 19 km canyon rim run) on mostly technical trails (rocks, uneven surface, scree, hills) and there were no serious problems.
They don't allow a good feel for the ground, perhaps because the big lugs dampen out fine resolution sensation. They are flexible enough that they don't restrict foot movement. They don't grip the foot into the boot very well - had some slippage and got a blister. They breathe very well.
Not a bad shoe for smaller runs (say, less than 10 km) and as a second shoe for rotations.
