This is a very well made tent (aluminum poles, quality fabric, factory seem sealed) -- comparable in quality to anything that MSR or REI has out on the market But... just a lousy design:

The doors are towards the short end of the tent making it difficult to get into the tent and your sleeping bag. The storage pockets built into the tent -- one hangs in your face when you sit up in the tent and the other on the side is so low and small that it dumps anything you put into it on the floor of your tent if you nudge a sidewall.

For the weight, when I go backpacking, I'd just as soon take my REI Half Dome and have a little more room. I own seven tents -- 2 REI, 2 MSR, 2 Coleman, and a cheap $30 Texsport backpacking tent. Fot the weight and functionality, I'd rather use the lower quality but more functional and lighter weight Texsport backpacking tent. The Alps Mountaineering Comet 1.5 is going back to REI to be returned today....
