ALPS Mountaineering Orion 4

Rating: rated 5 of 5 stars
Design: three-season freestanding dome
Ease of Setup: Could do it blindfolded
Weight: 7 lbs

Having done nothing but backwoods camping and always paid $300+ for a technical tent, I needed a roomy 4 person tent for state park camping. I was so leery buying such a cheap tent but I thought hey..it's only for a weekend trip to a state park in a campground.
Boy was I ever surprised with this tent.

Setup was quick and easy. All seams were taped (much to my surprise) and the tent was very taut. On day 3 of our trip, we were hit with a monsoon type storm that lasted about 6 hours. I believe we may have had 5 drops of water in our tent at the end of the day. I was truly impressed with the way the tent held up in the rain and 30+mph winds.

Needless to say our other friends' tents all leaked and they ended up leaving a day early. Don't be fooled by the cheap price of this tent. It's definitely a great tent.
