There you are, taking the lift up in the midst of sideways snow, but you're not worried; you have on the Arc'teryx Men's Macai Jacket. It's one tough and sporty son of a gun. This is a waterproof, down-insulated jacket for cold weather days in bounds or charging peaks in general. It's the first down-filled ski jacket from Arc'teryx; it gets the most out of this wonder insulator with its Down Contour Construction and Down Composite Mapping technologies. 750-fill European goose down lines the core and sleeves where warmth is most needed, while slim Coreloft Compact 60 insulation, which retains warmth when wet, is placed along the hem, collar, sleeves, and underarms, because these are the areas prone to more constant contact with moisture. A three-layer Gore-Tex shell surrounds this smart insulation, featuring the proprietary, tightly-woven N40p-X face fabric that includes a DWR treatment to slough off snow and rainfall. This premium waterproof, windproof, breathable protection plays in tandem a WaterTight external zippers, fully taped low-bulk microseams, a high collar with the insulated DropHood, and adjustable cuffs and hem to seal out the elements. Arc'teryx had functionality in mind when it built the Macai. An athletic fit with anatomical shaping, articulated elbows, and no-lift gusseted underarms gives you mobility as you ski and climb, and the hip length provides ample coverage no matter the conditions. The adjustable, insulated DropHood is helmet-compatible and is made to provide full visibility. A detachable powder skirt with gripper elastic and snap closure gives you options. As you work up a sweat skiing, you can dump excess heat out of the mesh-backed PowerGuard underarm vents while not allowing snow into the openings. Keep your compass, maps, pocket tools, and snacks organized in the generous amount of pockets; there's an internal chest pocket with laminated zip, two hand pockets with WaterTight zippers, a sleeve pocket with WaterTight zip, a che...

The Arcteryx Macai Jacket has a strategic placement of insulation type which ensures user comfort and prolonged jacket life. Down Composite Mapping places synthetic Coreloft (which stays warm when wet) along the hem, collar, sleeves and underarms; areas prone to contact with moisture. 750 cu-in fill European Goose down lines the core and sleeves where warmth is most needed. The insulated DropHood fits over standard ski and snowboard helmets and is designed to rotate with your head. A removable powder skirt, mesh lined PowderGuard underarm vents and a mesh-backed WaterTight front zip prevents snow entry but allows heat to escape.
