Gel-Kahana 7

rated 4 of 5 stars I find this shoe to be extremely comfortable with a generous toe box, but they are falling apart after less than 300 miles. Considering the price. I almost love this shoe! I have used the Asics Gel Kahana 7's for trail running and hiking and they have performed splendidly. I have run on very steep dirt trails that would test the traction capabilities of any trail runner and this shoe held strong. They are equally good on the uphills and downhills.   I'm 6 feet, 185 lbs and I run around 8:30 pace… Full review

Gel-Venture 5 Trail

rated 4.5 of 5 stars Very good trail running shoe, particularly for the price. Managed to put in some good 15-mile long runs with no problem. Good traction, highly durable. Fit: Good, Asics always works well for my wider feet. Heel is a little loose, so I used an ankle lock. Comfort: OK, break-in period needed. Got some hot spots around my upper foot. Traction: Very good Durability: Fantastic, probably have 200-300 miles on these with few signs of wear (of course they are very dusty). Full review

Gel-Arctic 4 GTX

rated 5 of 5 stars A durable and comfortable studded shoe for running on hard packed snow and not-too-steep ice. The studs are replaceable to extend the useful life of the shoe. It's not often that I give a 5-star review, but these shoes are doing what they are supposed to do and holding up so well that it's really hard to fault them on anything. They don't seem to be sold in the U.S., but they (or maybe newer variants) are still widely available in Norway. I got mine about two years ago have tried to keep them on… Full review

FujiTrail Hoodie

rated 5 of 5 stars Great mid layer for high aerobic activities. Great coverage and comfort, for the times that a fleece is too much, but a base layer alone is too little. The Asics Fuji Trail Hoodie, or Asics Fuji Hoody as they seem to call it in Europe, is a great mid layer. I often run hot and find no need for many of the otherwise very nice grid layers on the market, until it is around -10˚C.  This hoody seems to fall between a thick base layer and a thin fleece. So perfect for running or otherwise high aerobic… Full review

Gel-Trail Attack 5 WR

rated 5 of 5 stars I finally found a running shoe that worked. The Asics men's Gel-Trail Attack 5 WR was the best road and trail running shoe for me. After years of trying different running shoes for my 100's and 50 mile runs the only shoe that worked for comfort, water resistance, stability, fit and ride is now discontinued.  The WR 6 is a much stiffer ride and is NOT waterproof. I only wish Asics would bring this running shoe back. I am still in search for a similar ride, perhaps the Montrail Rockledge???   Full review
