This boot has absolutely NO break in period. I bought it and wore it at home for two days before backpacking with a heavy pack on the New Jersey section of the AT (High Point State Park) and I could not believe how comfortable they were. They literally inspire confidence while on the trail. Very balanced, rock-solid and they literally glance off if you stub your foot somewhere. I used them through mud, slush and water and they never felt uncomfortable. we did about 15 miles on that trip and I'll swear by them now!!! Best of all, I got them on a sale for a great price. If you get a chance, definitely go ahead and get them.
