I have been very satisfied with this boot. Got them on sale for $110. Asolo claims the one piece leather is water proof, but I treat them with Sno-Seal, and it absorbs it great, totally repelling all water, except in heavy downpoars I have a narrow foot, and the boot seems to conform to it, or was made narrow, or something. These boots felt great right out of the box and have performed well on trails under heavy loads. However, don't believe Asolo's marketing promises about this boot. It is NOT stiff enough for step in crampons, and is barely stiff enough for heavy off-trail use. This flexibility adds a lot of comfort though.
