From Altrec Outdoors:
"Redesigned with a lighter and more responsive profile, the Atlas 1227 Elektra 12 Series women's snowshoe is an ideal floatation platform for extended hikes, winter backpacking and backcountry skiing and snowboarding. This season Atlas modified the components in both the women's and men's versions for improved responsiveness and stability without undermining the pure all-mountain performance that makes the Elektra 12 Series a top choice for winter backpackers and serious mountaineers. About the only thing that remains the same from previous years is the durable Duratek deck material and Atlas' patented Spring-Loaded suspension. Atlas used a new geometry in a ReactiV 7075 aluminum frame for a stiffer, more responsive chassis. The 7075 aluminum material remains the lightest that Atlas has ever used on a snowshoe, but by pairing this design with new components, this season's 1227 Elektra snowshoe is almost a half pound lighter than last year, and more energy saved on the trail is more energy you'll have to enjoy at the campsite or back at the mountain yurt. The 1227 also features a new Wrapp Pro binding that's specifically molded with foam padding in a left foot and right foot configuration. This creates a closer, more natural fit that's a few degrees warmer than bindings that are interchangeable between left and right feet. Beneath the Duratek deck you'll find a new Holey-1 toe crampon and stainless steel parallel traction rails for hold. Another nice feature is the waterproof webbing with positive-locking, low-friction roller buckles for enhanced security. The 1227 Elektra 12 is a great women's design for climbing, mountaineering, backpacking and winter trekking."
From CampSaver.com:
"Designed for women from the start, the Atlas Elektra 12 Series snowshoes benefit from Atlas leading research into womens biomechanics. The 7075 ReactiV aluminum frame is specially shaped with outside rolling bends to create a narrower waist and tapered tail that allow a womans natural stride. The padded Wrapp Pro binding eliminates pressure points to keep your circulation moving and your extremities warm, and FlowTape Silicone straps glide easily through the buckles, even with mittens on. Spring-Loaded Suspension gives the stainless steel prongs and rails of the toe and heel crampons even deeper penetration. The Duratek decking keeps the weight down, and the climbing bar will let you charge"
From Backcountry.com:
"Atlas made the Women's E12 Series Elektra Snowshoes with an incredibly lightweight, strong, and responsive frame. Combine that with a women's-specific tapered shape and crazy traction, and you're ready for fluffy snow and icy, steep slopes. A heel-lift bar gives your calves a break on the steeps, and the toe crampons, heel cleats, and Traverse Trac Rails all dig in to make sure your climbs and descents are skid-free. The E12 Series' buckles let you pull these snowshoes on with your gloves still on your hands, and custom right- and left-foot molded bindings keep your feet happy. As you relax and take in a snowy world, Elektra's Spring-Loaded Suspension system receives and returns your energy with each step, so you can go farther and enjoy more."
