As part of an outfitting trip in the BWCA this meal was provided. With a little preparation, this meal is one of the tastiest you'll ever experience in the BWCA (when the fish are not biting!).
FYI, you'll need your 1 liter pot and a little extra fuel. This is not your typical add water, stir, let sit for ten minutes, and enjoy meal. Cooking over a low heat for a short period is required to prepare the chicken, peas, & gravy.
While this is simmering, add water to the dumpling mix and stir in their own pouch. Drop spoonfuls of the mixture into the chicken gravy as soon as it boils. This step forms the dumplings.
Total cook time is about 15 minutes. WELL WORTH THE EFFORT!
