Summary

Poor "sheet slippage."

Cons

  • Poor "sheet slippage"

I've been through maybe a dozen ropes in my past. This is the worst rope I've ever had.

On my second day out with this rope, we took two small falls (fall factor < 0.1). I got more than an inch of "sheet slippage". I've seen "sheet slippage" before, but not before at least one year of weekly usage.

I'll never get a Beal rope again.

If "sheet slippage" is highly variable, at least stay away from the "batch number" M02R157111 (listed on the tag attached to the rope).

Welcome to Trailspace Pa La. I do a lot of work with ropes, and I'm not even familiar with Beal. Thanks for the insight.

I climb on a Beal Joker rope and love it. This one sounds like a slap to the face of its namesake.

This rope works great. It's perfect for setting up top rope or lead climbs. It's completely water proof and very durable! The length, diameter, and weight are all perfect.

This is my first rope. Nice rope, it has worked so far. It has the middle already marked for you. It is on the heavy side.
