User Review: Big Agnes Sarvis SL2 w/ eVENT

Rating: rated 5 of 5 stars
Design: Free-standing 3-season, waterproof tent
Sleeps: 2
Ease of Setup: Middle pole is threaded through a sleeve as is the back bone. The others are clipped to the body.
Weight: 4.73
Price Paid: $199

I paid $199 for it, obviously on sale and closeout. My packed measurements are: 15.5” long and 21” around, pulled tightly on the thickest part. That’s with tent body, rain fly, poles, stakes and guy lines in the sack.

On my scale it weighs 4.73 pounds. Floor Area = 32.5 sq feet. Vestibule area = 6 sq feet. The tent's length is 84” long, 51” at the head, 43” at the feet and 73” at the middle, with a nice 46” of headroom.

The weight savings are due to the hybrid design of the tent. One half is single wall eVENT fabric (the most breathable fabric ever) and the other half with mesh and covered by a attached rain fly. There are two vents on either side at the top and another near the ground at the back in the single wall.

It’s freestanding and has plenty of guy lines. The vestibule isn’t very big but is steeper so it has more vertical room. This is a great tent and big step up from my MSR MicroZoid.

Pros:
Quality materials and construction
Light weight
Packs small
Waterproof/breathable eVENT
Freestanding
Room for two and spacious for one
Waterproof zipper on rain fly
Comes with gear loft

Cons:
Middle pole thread through sleeve
Small vestibule
Thin floor/footprint recommended
