Here's what other sites are saying:

From Backcountry.com:
"Black Diamond designed the Transfer 7 Shovel with a trapezoidal shaft to increase strength and ensure fast, easy use in any condition. By moving away from the traditional round shaft, Black Diamond created a handle that extends with a simple pull and cannot be rotated on accident. This makes the Transfer 7 faster to set up than standard shovels, and the large blade moves snow like a tractor when your partner's life depends on it."

From CampSaver.com:
"Optimizing extended shaft length for increased comfort and efficiency, the Black Diamond Transfer 7 shovel is ideal for backcountry travelers who dig pits regularly for snowpack analysis. The removable, trapezoidal shafts extend to 86 cm 34 in on the Tr"

From EMS:
"Designed for serious avalanche excavation, the Transfer 7 shovel is designed for maximum speed of deployment. With its non-rotating trapezoidal design, you'll never waste previous time searching for spring-pin holes to lock. Its long rigid shaft provides maximum handle extension, and large blade moves snow rapidly. Made with 6000 Series aluminum. Detachable handle extends length from 16.3 inches to 33.9 inches. Non-rotating trapezoidal design makes assembly faster, and avoids rotation in use. Large, steep-walled 10.3 x 15.75 blade aides maximum snow transfer. Flat-bottomed design digs smooth snow pit walls with flat surfaces. Unique "T&D" handle creates control and comfort, whether you're using mitts, gloves, or bare hands."

"I have to say I really like the design of the handle and shaft, really strong and nice looking. The blade on the other hand has such a weak fatigue strength, after diggin around for 20 min. the middle section of the blade, where the handle attaches, began to bend and stayed bent."
