Manufacturer's Description

The 240 Aluminum HD Probe is the ideal combination of length, price and stability.

The probe measures a standard 94.5 inches (240 centimeters) and features different colored segments that indicate depth. The tapered segments with a threaded coupling mechanism make for a quick and easy assembly.

Like the 240+ Carbon Pro Probe, the tip of the Aluminum HD Probe is wider so that it can easily be pulled out of the snow and ice without freezing. Weight: 330 grams.

Here's what other sites are saying:

The essential avalanche rescue tool used between the beacon search and shoveling stage, the Brooks-Range 240 Aluminum HD Avalanche Probe is what actually locates your buried companion and confirms where you should start digging. Assembling this tool is easy; just toss it, pull the T-handle, and lock it into place. Then you can start probing in a grid pattern after your partner completes the pinpoint beach search.
