Exped Travel Box II Plus

rated 5 of 5 stars Large bug net with a built-in floor for full protection. Great for use in shelters or under a tarp. Zippers on two sides make for easy access and lots of tie out points allow for setup in varied conditions. The Exped Travel Box II Plus is a souped up version of their basic, rectangular bug net, meant for multi-person use. They added a floor, side entry zippers, and some additional tie out points. The result is a very functional bug house that provides for a lot of protected space. I set it up in… Full review

Sea to Summit Mosquito Head Net

rated 5 of 5 stars Large enough to fit over a hat. Small and light enough to carry anywhere. Keeps mosquitoes at bay. I have been carrying the Sea to Summit Mosquito Head Net in my backpack for years. I got it as a gift and being so small and light I just stashed it in a ditty bag along with my headlamp and a few other items which I would use occasionally on backpack trips. Up until this summer's PCT section hike from Tahoe to Yosemite I had never needed to use it even in Alaska and the Yukon. While reducing my… Full review

SlingFin CrossBow 2 Mesh Drop-In

rated 3.5 of 5 stars This accessory is designed for the CrossBow 2 StormPak, allowing the user to be well protected from insects, while minimizing weight with the bare-bones setup of the CrossBow 2. For those who want a strong tent that is easy to customize, the SlingFin CrossBow 2 is a lightweight way to do it! When using the StormPak configuration, the tent user has the option to modify this open-air setup by adding the Mesh Inner Drop-In. This accessory is a hybrid between a tent inner, and an open-bottomed centrally… Full review

Coghlan's Deluxe Mosquito Head Net

rated 5 of 5 stars This mosquito head netting is great. I used it deer hunting two weeks ago because mosquitos are so bad and all I could hear was them buzzing my head, so we all use them now all the time. I would recommend this for use with small children too. The netting is strong and light and the whole headgear is not heavy on your head. Full review

BugBaffler Insect Protective Headnet

rated 5 of 5 stars A no-see-um head net. Many of the woodsy areas around Chicago are restored wetlands which serve as a breeding and feeding habitat for wildlife, including mosquitos. During a four-hour hike I was not bitten once while wearing the head net. Combined with permethrin treated clothes it was a perfect system to thwart massive swarms of mosquitos. The head net fits over my full-brimmed Tilley hat and the elastic arm loops hold it in place. It fits in a pocket and the light weight makes it a no-brainer… Full review

Sea to Summit Escapist Ultra-Mesh Bug Tent

rated 2 of 5 stars Really wanted to love the large tarp + bug tent combo. Gave it 14 nights on the Tahoe Rim Trail — meadows, ridges, trees, granite, mud, wind, and rain. Sheds water like a duck. However, I'm just 5'1" and was unable to sit up under the head end except on nights where I was able to find a near perfect pitching site and didn't need to pitch low due to wind. In order to achieve full height and width at the head end of the inner tent, the front corners of the tarp have to be pitched high. This combo… Full review

Sea to Summit Escapist Ultra-Mesh Bug Tent

rated 4 of 5 stars A non-free standing shelter by design that works well with a variety of conditions and platforms. It can be pitched with a pair of trekking poles or in between two trees. It's a versatile shelter that can be used as a ground shelter or even as a hammock tarp. Since this is a modular system, the weight can be easily be distributed between two people. Best used for 3-season backpacking and can be used as a solo or 2-person shelter. Manufacturer Specs: http://www.seatosummit.com.au/products/bug-protection/escapist/… Full review
