Camp Trails Omega/Camo

rated 5.0 of 5 stars

Camp Trails is no longer in business, and the Omega/Camo has been discontinued. If you're looking for something new, check out the best external frame backpacks for 2024.

I used this pack extensively for two years as a National Park Service employee. I liked it so much that I bought my own. My job required 10 day trips to the backcountry of Isle Royale NP. This pack could carry anything we put into it even 750 feet of wet gillnets. Properly fitted, it will keep the weight off your back and keep you very cool. It performs surprisingly off-trail. I like it because I can fit my camera kit in the top pocket and still have enough space for all my other gear. This pack has several small hidden pockets I didn't find until the second year. All in all an excellent pack for heavy hauling.
