Everyone needs a good pair of casual house shoes. Without them, your toes get cold and numb. And your general comfort level rapidly declines. But with the Chaco’s Women’s Ramble Puff Cinch Shoes, you can easily mitigate this issue. These shoes come with a rip-stop nylon covering and a synthetic overlay to give you a little bit of extra insulation during the chilly months. They also come with support, which makes them great for active people. 

Size & Fit

The Chaco Women’s Ramble Puff Cinch Shoes fit feet that range from size 5 to 11. And, unlike some Chaco shoes, this pair does come in half sizes. The manufacturer recommends sizing up by a ½ size when ordering these shoes.

Since Chaco sandals are known for running large, I decided to try my standard shoe size. And it was perfect. Once I slipped them on over my feet, I had just enough wiggle room at the front of the shoe to feel like I could move dynamically. And the width was perfect. 

Comfort & Warmth

Featuring a puffy-like upper, I was expecting the Ramble Puff Cinch Slipper to be as warm as down booties. And, while they are warmer than my standard shoes, they didn’t blow me away. But the fit, and the support in these shoes still makes them a top contender for house shoes. 

Cost & Value

These shoes have an MSRP of $80, which is on the steep side for a pair of casual house shoes. But you can often find them on sale for half of the price. If you’re lucky enough to snag that deal, the Ramble Puff is definitely worth it due to its rugged sole, general comfort, and support. 

Materials & Design

The Ramble Puff Cinch Shoe comes with a podiatrist-accepted footbed to deliver consistent support throughout the day. The 3.0 MM lug outsole is durable, and resistant to wear. And the top of the shoe is made with a water-resistant rip-stop nylon with a custom quilted diamond design and synthetic overlays. And there’s even a soft fleece upper lining for added comfort. All of these pieces work together to give you a durable, comfortable, consistent shoe. 

Testing

I live in a cabin in the Rocky Mountains at 8,400-feet. We’ve had snow for the past three months. And I typically struggle with the cold. While the Ramble Puff Cinch Slipper disappointed a little bit in terms of warmth, it did provide extra protection and an added layer of insulation.

I’ve been wearing these shoes daily for about 4 months. So far, I’ve been impressed with the traction on these shoes. On a few occasions, I walked out onto our ice-covered deck and didn’t struggle with slipping and sliding. I also found that the cinch creates a snug fit and a little bit more insulation. 

Background

I've owned a handful of casual slipper-like shoes over the years. None of them were quite like this shoe, which is great in many ways. But I would like to see future models with increased warmth.
