User Review: Chippewa Arctic 50

Rating: rated 5 of 5 stars
Materials: leather
Use: moderate trails and back country hiking
Break-in Period: short
Weight: don't recall
Price Paid: $109

I bought my Arctic 50's in January 1990. They are still going strong, although I have replaced the sole two times due to wear.

They have traveled the world and done extremely well. They have been to Iceland, Norway, Denmark, Russia, Japan, Italy, Germany, Sicily, Canada, and Spain. They have taken a beating from lava of Mount Etna and Mt Fuji, and they have also done well with crampons and snowshoes.

If you are in it for the long haul, I'd recommend them. I'm looking to buy another pair next month for my birthday. Enjoy!!
