This item is not a must buy for many backpackers. But if you have ever camped in sand, or are in a area where you can, and feel like cooking over an open fire, it's the tool you are looking for.

The pack grill weighs in at 12 oz. So there is not a big strain on your back. Folds flat so it doesn't take up much in the backpack.

I use it as a table when in sandy areas, I store all my cooking gear on it. Effectively keeping sand out of ones pots and cutlery. Or when I cook over a small fire. It does well for both.

I have tried it with my alcohol stove. But found that the heat was just too much for it. It will not hold up to intense heat from a gas burning stoves as it will warp out of shape.

Overall, for my uses, it works great
