boots felt okay in the store, but after 2 short walks around the neighborhood they started to develop "hot spots" around the ankle bone area. They are a fairly comfortable boot and waterproof, however, the stitching and material they have used to attach the lining in the boot is annoyingly uncomfortable, and for some reason Columbia decided to place this stitching at the critical rub points where your ankle sits.

Unfortunately, they are going back and I am sticking with Merrel products.

I am from the Great White North where it is common to be below 10 degrees cel... six months of the year. I own Merrels, Nike, Addidas and Sorels.

So far these boots are light, comfortable and warm. The style is... well what I expect a winter boot should look like. Rugged and good looking.

Thanks... good luck on your search.
