I got this jacket for an amazing £79.99, so I was naturally wondering what (if any) the catch was. I tried it out for the first time in the Lakelands over the Easter Bank holiday (2000) and, sure enough (as always with the Lakes) it chucked it down. The jacket performed well, keeping me dry the whole day - but I found the jacket a little 'warm', even with just a T-shirt on underneath. It compresses well, is available in the colour I consider sensible for outdoor jackets (red) and it had 6 pockets for all my needs. The peak is a little narrow, but otherwise okay. In general, I would reccomend this jacket for those who want decent performance in the mountains without having to pay the earth.
