Environmentally Neutral Designs (END) questions every material and process that goes into manufacturing, striving to minimize environmental impact. Durable ripstop nylon and nylon mesh uppers are highly breathable; synthetic leather overlays provide structure and support. Rubber toe caps provide protection for uppers and toes against bumps and abrasion. Polyester and natural bamboo fiber are blended to offer moisture-wicking and antimicrobial linings. Compression-molded EVA midsoles feature 10% recycled EVA content and supply cushioning comfort for extended wear; EVA posting helps control pronation. Cons: The foam rubber on the outer sole is soft and will scuff and get "chewed" up in rough terrain.
Other Thoughts: While these shoes are great out of the box if you plan on using them a lot while carrying a pack or in rocky terrain you may want to invest in a pair of insoles for a little more protection and rigidity.
