Entrek Javalina

rated 5.0 of 5 stars

The write up is this:

The 4 5/16" long 3/16" thick drop point on the JAVALINA make it a hunter's dream come true. A true utility knife it features enough sweep on the blade to make it a usefull skinner. The overall length of the Javalina is 8 15/16".

Review is this:

Knife performs as an excellent all around knife and that is its main use. I don't hunt.

440c stainless and micarta handles are also so tough that the blade can take about anything.

I've lived with this blade long enough to get worn past the factory edge. It is now hair shaving sharp and holds its edge. Outdoor knife owners should know that getting past a factory edge is when you can start to enjoy real blade performance.

Comes in a zytel sheath that is just OK. You might want to fashion something else or buy a leather sheath.

Blade is 3/16 inch think on the spine. This is so incredibly strong you could never really hurt the thing.

It will outperform any other fixed blades of like size.

It will baton and chop as well as cut very well. You can leave the warm fuzzies at home when you take this out, it is a hard use knife that does not have the cute teddy-bear factor of an ipod or swiss army toy.

Knife maker: Ray Ennis. You can look them up if you want. The market is open on where to get them.

Prices have jumped around and there are deals. I got mine quite a few years ago. If I lost it, I'd get a replacement.

Price Paid: $80
