Etón FRX3 Radio

rated 3.5 of 5 stars
photo: Etón FRX3 Radio radio

Great for outdoor activities, picnics, lakeside, power outages.

Pros

  • Multiple functions
  • Dump cell charger
  • Good sound

Cons

  • Bulky
  • Poorly designed light flashlight switch

This is a great, compact radio for the little moment you want to add music to and not worry about where the power is coming from. The volume gets pretty loud and the sound is pretty good. A super useful tool for power outages and natural disaster issues, a great comfort to know I can charge my phone in an emergency.

This is not a backpacking radio. It may be splash proof, but I wouldn't test it. The knobs for adjusting tuning and volume are protected but the button for the flashlight is not, will have it inside a bag bringing it from one place to another only to notice the flashlight has turned on, draining all the power from the earlier charge.

The phone charger will work in an emergency, if you need to charge your phone enough to make a call — not charge for day-to-day usage.

Overall it's a cool little radio and nice to have.
