The deciding factor of whether a tent is good or not always comes when you're stuck inside it, sheltered from a pouring thunderstorm. I realized how good this little tent is while we were hiking a 30 mile route in the Ramsey Draft Wilderness area in Virginia. We were at 4000 feet and it poured the WHOLE night while we stayed comfortably dry the entire time. The waterproof bucket around the bottom of the tent was a lifesaver. We could feel the cold water flowing under the tent but it never leaked in.

The only problem with this tent is the rainfly. No leaks, but since it doesn't go all the way to the ground, we had some misting on the walls, enough to make the fabric damp. This is a great tent and all most people will need in warm weather, but I'd recommend the Apex XT since its rainfly goes all the way to the ground. Whatever tent you buy.. make sure it has a generous and full rainfly!
