User Review: Falcon Guides Cooking in the Outdoors
Source: bought it new
Price Paid: $9.99
Not so much a recipe book but rather a methods and skills focus.
- Lots of grocery store food ideas
- Many good backcountry tips
- Too short
I have a number of outdoors oriented cooking guides. Some are mostly recipe books while some are more general and skill oriented. This book is very much skill oriented and geared towards how to dehydrate your own trail foods and how to find and utilize grocery store supplies suitable for backcountry use.
I really like Cliff's writing style, although I can see how some would find it to be a tad bit goofy. In fact I bought a copy of this book in the early 1990s and lost it somewhere along the way. I bought the new, updated edition when I found it online.
