GobSpark Armageddon

rated 5 of 5 stars This is the only firesteel I recommend now. It's never let me down and throws very hot sparks. This rod is great for survival training, bushcrafting, and as an emergency combustion source in your pack. I teach survival programs here on the West Coast of Canada. rated 5 of 5 stars A good product that works in any weather condition. Things nobody tells you. There is a coating that needs to be scratched off. Longer strikes produce a bigger spark of burning material. More importantly one of the easiest ways of lighting a fire anywhere. Find two pieces of dry toilet/tissue paper. Place one piece flat on a dry surface. Shred the second piece and place in the middle of the first piece. Place your firesteel on top and use the striker. rated 5 of 5 stars A ferrocerium rod that generates 5,500 deg F sparks in any weather condition. A fire starter is great to have, especially if you encounter wet conditions. I have the Armageddon firesteel from firesteel.com. With the Armageddon, you will literally get thousands of sparks before wearing it out. It puts out sparks up to 5500 deg F and it works in all conditions.
