Garmont Sticky Dragon

rated 2 of 5 stars

The Sticky Dragon has been discontinued. If you're looking for something new, check out the best approach shoes for 2024.

photo: Garmont Sticky Dragon approach shoe

I've owned at least 5 pair of Garmont approach shoes. They usually fit me perfectly. These are the exception.

They are very boxy in the toe and cannot be laced down tight enough to give an agile feel. Also, the tongue has far too much padding and does not lend to a sensitive feel. Feels far more like a running shoe than an approach shoe. Laces are too long and do not stay tied without a double knot.

Fine for walking around town but nothing technical. I wish they still made their Sticky Spins.
