Bad news from the start! When I first got it and brought it home, I set it up in the yard to get to know how it set up. When the first bit of tension was applied as poles were correctly placed, the back wall ripped right up the middle about 2ft long. I figured defect but when I returned it and set the new one up at camp, two of the tent stake loops ripped out when the tension was applied! Oh, and forget this tent in ANY weather! The sun rots it, you WILL get wet in the rain (no rain fly), and the gentle breeze will make you hug each pole for fear of collapse. I have been let down by Hillary before. My father used to say they were a great tents and camping gear. I haven't seen that yet.

Ease of Setup: very easy to set up
I bought this tent three years ago, but just started using it this year. I wouldn't recommend it. The seams rip easily and it leaks really bad. Not at the seams like some expect, right through the roof. This wasn't even in a heavy rain; just a light rain.
I can't ever get anyone on the phone for customer service. I have been on the phone today for 50 min and still no answer, they keep saying one call ahead of me. I have been a camper for many years and have had only one tent before this and never had any problems. Will definitely go back to that brand.

Weight: 20 pounds easy

I was given a 4-5 person Hillary cabin tent that was handed down the family tree and it works great!
The tent was probably 10 years old when it was added to our gear cache and that was 11 years ago! We continue to put the ol work horse through the weekend car camping getaways and this tent stands tall, and doesn't leak a drop at all!
I recommend a Hillary to anyone looking for a quality car camping tent. They rock!
