all I have to say is they're great boots. on side hills the 12" height has always got your ankles in line, so you can be on your feet all day. the tongue protector is great for hiking over debre. I wish I would've had these with me in tahoe.
Update: March 26, 2003
This boot is a very good boot. Don't let "lightweight" fool you. this boot will take anything you thow at it. hiking and backpaking in the adirondacks in the spring and fall is great because at the end of the day, my feet are still dry as a bone. the 12" height is great support for my weak ankles. this boot is extremely comfortable. i also like the anti debis tongue, it keeps sticks and twigs from poking you feet.
the only draw back is, this boot comes E widths only so for people with wide feet. this boot's cumbursume to get on and off.
