Love this kayak! Bought it 2 weeks ago and have done…

Rating: rated 4.5 of 5 stars
Price Paid: $1500

Love this kayak! Bought it 2 weeks ago and have done everything from calm lake kayaking to offshore. The balance, stability, and maneuverability are supreme for a transitional model kayak.

Sharp colors (mine is yellow) and sexy lines have brought many remarks and inquiries from fellow paddlers. The storage is ample (my -.5 star rating) as I have enough room for as much gear as I will need when using this model but could be a little bigger.

All in all a perfect kayak for all environments for any novice!

Here's what other sites are saying:

The Hurricane Kayaks Sit-On-Top Skimmer 128 is the kayak for you when you demand even more of your boat than you do of yourself. The middling length of the Skimmer family of SOTs, the 128 tours, fishes, and floats idly on a tranquil inland lake with ease. Given that the Skimmer consists of thermo-molded Trylon, this boat is a beauty to handle on dry land, not just in the water. As the 128 is made of lightweight and rigid Trylon, you'll be able to lift this boat by yourself and not need to find a general surgeon afterward. The touring-style hull lets you paddle a mostly straight line with little effort and still turn on a dime. The AireStream seat adjusts front to back and up to down so your body doesn't bemoan being in this boat. Adjustable foot braces are the icing on the quasi-custom fit cake. Three storage hatches and a cavernous stern tankwell give you the space to take off for a weekend on the water. The center hatch has a little plastic bucket inside, perfect for bait or a small dry bag with your keys and camera. The side paddle park is new to the Skimmer, and it's true, the small things make the difference. Now you can safely stow your paddle when casting or cradling a cold, frothy bevvie on a hot 'n humid day. Two plastic grab handles make it easy to tote your boat to and from the water's edge. Two scupper holes offer easy egress points for incoming water, while a single stern drain plug lets you evacuate any excess water. If the 128 isn't enough as is, you can outfit it with a rudder and the DLX Angler Package (both sold separately).

The Hurricane Kayaks Skimmer 128 sit-on-top kayak offers a stable ride for touring around lakes or meandering down rivers. Sit-on-top design offers a comfortable ride with dependable primary and secondary stability that helps new paddlers feel totally in control. Trylon thermoformed ABS plastic hull material is stiff and light like traditional composite kayaks and offers similar looks, but it costs considerably less. Redesigned seat back is lightweight and incredibly breathable thanks to a contoured support frame covered with soft mesh fabric that maximizes airflow. To adjust the seat back for personalized fit, simply pull seat back forward to unlock, adjust and push back to relock. Generous bow hatch and 2 day hatches store day packs and supplies. Flat surface areas make mounting fishing accessories a snap; stern deck rigging keeps extra gear within easy reach. Easily transport the 48 lb. Hurricane Skimmer 128 kayak with bow and stern carry handles plus 2 side carry handles.
