A truly beautiful design. Has quickly become my 'go to' light for indoor illumination. Bright clean flood has no distracting hot spot and suppresses shadows wonderfully, unlike more intense torches.

This is a shining example of 'less is more.' Build quality is outstanding will outlast/outperform any comparable multi LED design especially inexpensive hardware store varieties.

Own an Inova XO3 that is another unbeatable light but indoors it is blinding bright. The diffuse flood of the X5 is actually superior with light absorbed rather than bouncing off the walls. Very effective and efficient.

Can't impress how useful the X5 is in most situations- power outage, task lighting, crawl spaces, camping etc. And the Lithium batteries function at extreme temperatures and have an astounding 10 year shelf life- another fact lending to this lights uncompromising reliability.

Simple and robust LED light that utilizes 2 CR123 Lithium batteries.

Pros- Small diameter, machined aluminum body, and not super bright. Works great for animal tracking in the dark, as the weaker flood really highlights the tracks/sign. Can be used to read with as the "splashback" is minimal. Also the right intensity for map reading.

Battery life is pretty darn good too. Overall, just a nice backpacking utility light.

Cons- Twist cap doesn't have a ton of resistance, so you must ensure that it is turned off and isolated so gear in your pack doesn't inadvertently rotate it on. I just back off the cap to off/off and slide it in a little nylon pouch. Batteries are not politically correct as they are not the best thing for Mother Nature (lithium). Some of my buddies prefer a AA light source to ensure that they are "Earth Friendly".

Can be used daily for years and years.
