Description

The Siltarp is a tarp/shelter made by Integral Designs. It has an average rating of 4.5 stars (out of 5), based on 1 user review.

Here's what other sites are saying:

From Backcountry.com:
"The Integral Designs Siltarp is an extremely versatile tarp made from ultra light waterproof nylon. Silicon impregnation seals out water and keeps the Siltarp's ripstop fabric at an ethereal 1.35oz per square yard, yet it remains incredibly strong and resilient. Functioning as bare-bones overhead shelter for use with a bivy sack, or as a cooking and gear storage awning, the Siltarp can be set up on hiking poles, slung between trees or attached to a tent or hooped bivy. 16 webbing tie loops sewn on the corners and edges, and one reinforced loop in the center facilitate a number of different set ups. Because it has no seams, it requires no seam sealing and is ready to go out of the box."

From REI:
"Use this incredibly lightweight, waterproof tarp as a cooking or gear storage shelter for minimalist backpacking with your bivy. Parachute ripstop nylon impregnated with silicon is strong and resilient without being bulky or heavy. Can be set up on trekking poles, slung from trees or attached as an awning to a hooped bivy or tent. Reinforced center patch with webbing loop and 16 webbing loop tie-outs around outside edge provide setup options. Coverage varies depending on set up."

From Oregon Mountain Community:

"My experience using the Siltarp is as a gear awning during climbing class outings, a rain shelter for a beach trip, and as my primary shelter for a 4 day stint on the PCT.

Setting up a tarp requires a bit of ingenuity and creative thinking as before you get to a campsite while thruhiking, you're never completely sure what variables (trees, rocks, ground hardness, etc) you may have to deal with."
