Nice ski for the backcountry.
- Quick to turn
I like this ski; it's pretty light and does a fair job to break up crust. It does float, but it's not a real fat ski, only 119, but it's pretty quick. You do have to stay on top of them.
I think if you look hard enough you can find a bargain out there. Mine are tricked out for Tele and they are just fine. You can't go wrong for money; check out EVOoutlet or GEARx.
Here's what other sites are saying:
A rugged randonnee ski that ranges from aggressive in bounds freeskiing to ski mountaineering exploits, the K2 Shuksan is endowed with lightweight construction and alpine performance. Float through the pow with precision turning sidecut and a snappy flex pattern.
- Mountain Gear
K2 got together with AMGA guide Martin Volken to design an alpine touring ski which tours effortlessly and cruises steep backcountry descentsthe Shuksan Randonnee Ski. This K2 ski isn't one of those only-for-the-fluff planks. Its wood-and-metal combination core provides the response and edge control you need to pull off steep descents in everything from beautiful spring corn to horrendous broken crust. Plus, at only 1575g, the Shuksan Randonnee Skis is light enough to take on long backcountry tours and ski mountaineering trips. *Available for US shipment only.
