User Review: L.L. Bean Ultra Dome Tent, Four-Person

Rating: rated 5 of 5 stars
Design: 3 Season Dome
Sleeps: 4
Ease of Setup: Simple
Weight: 13 lbs
Price Paid: $179

If you don't need a lot of room and you want to stay dry and out of the elements this tent is for you. It uses 3 fiberglass shock-corded poles with the 3rd being farther up in front which adds more head and storage space where you really need it--where you go in and out and where you plop your gear.

The set-up takes about 10 minutes. The color coded clips make it even simpler and since it's "all" clips (no threading poles through bunched up sleeves) it's literally a snap. The rain fly covers fantastically--after 20+ outings I have yet to get any rain in there and it's seen many a thunderstorm and rainy days.

The fly also has a visor extending even farther out over the door so you can peek out at the raccoons raiding your neighbor's cooler in the rain without getting your hair wet. Note: they apparently love peanut butter and can open the containers expertly.
The zippers, seams and bathtub are all of great quality & there's plenty of little pockets for storage and assorted loops for hanging things, namely the center which easily holds up a 4 lb light.

This tent really can't be beat and at this price they're giving it away. For those unfamiliar with Bean they "will and do back their products 100%...absolutely unconditionally.
