Summary

A good cheap pack, but what you save in money you lose in space.

Pros

  • Comfortable straps
  • Lots of pockets inside and out
  • Pole straps

Cons

  • The amount you can put in the pack is limited.

This is a slightly updated pack from the one I have, but the dimensions are similar to my version of the pack.

I was very pleased with the shoulder straps, the back padding, the various pockets and loops for hiking poles. You get a lot of value for this pack that is reasonably priced compared say, to an Osprey.

However, you will find there is a limit to the amount of things you can put in your pack. For a day pack, sometimes I would want to put my fleece in, water, etc. coupled with first aid kit, etc. but there doesn't seem to be enough room for everything.

That said, if you are hiking light, you can't beat the value and the quality of this pack, it's really well constructed!

Retailers' Descriptions

Here's what other sites are saying:

Redesigned for late 2014 to be a more technical, high-performance pack for the trail. Built with lighter material to shave about half a pound of weight, it's our most versatile pack for high-energy active pursuits of all kinds, whether you're into long day hikes or trekking into your favorite ice climb in winter. Raised back panel with air mesh cover reduces the amount of contact with your back to increase ventilation. Shoulder straps are made from perforated EVA foam and mesh cover for breathability and to keep weight down. Interior back panel foam cushion can be removed to reduce weight when you're going fast and light on a summit push and also to free up space for a hydration bladder, sold separately. The cushion can then act as a comfortable seat when you're sitting on the summit. Top load design; lid features a large gear pocket and a smaller security pocket with key fob. "Shove-it" pocket for storage of items you want to access quickly on the trail. Stretch mesh side water-bottle pockets hold bottles up to 32 oz. Dual ice axe loops with tool tie-off cords. Pack body is made from tough, lightweight 70D double ripstop fabric and 210D ripstop nylon. Imported. Capacity 1,220 cu. in.; 20 liters. Weight 1 lb. 10 oz., 1 lb. 6 oz. without removable back panel. Dimensions 18.5"H x 9.5"W, tapering to 8.5" at bottom of pack.
