a superb water shoe. Great traction, which is most important for canyoneering. And the strap just places my feet securely in the shoes. And the shoes are very comfortable when hiking and bacpacking off trails. I used a Teva Sunkosi before Exum River. Sunkosi is better looking and superb in ventilating water (cause it has holes on the soles), however, very poor traction.
The only downside for a water shoe is they dry slowly. It may take 20 hours to completely dry, while Sunkosi may take like several hours.
Overall, a very good shoe for both hiking, backpacking, canyoneering or both of them mixed. For the problem of ventilating, I will bring a pair of sandals to be used when in camping area.
