Great boots for the tropics. The are very comfortable and it required almost no breaking time. I have been into the rain forests of Panama for three months with these boots so far with no problems. The fine leather together with the gore-tex liner helped keep my feet dry even after full days of mud and rain. The only alternative that can beat this performance is a pair of rubber boots which are very uncomfortable and hard on your feet for long hikes.

The only complain that I have (and it applies to most modern hiking boots) is that the relatively small lugs on the vibram outer sole does poorly on muddy terrain compared to say military boots. This problem is more evident when going downhill on muddy clay soil.
