"CORRECTION FROM FIRST SUBMISSION: After many years in Fabianos used in the Cascades, Coast range, and the High Dez I replaced them with the LaSportiva. I was concerned they would not handle the job. However, the Vermonts are great, simple, tough enough and extremely well made re: workmanship and materials."

"These boots take a while to break in, but they are great when you finish. The full-lleather upper is very durable, and I have have found it completely waterproof even though there is no membrane. It is a little heavy, but all of it seems to be in support."
