I feel as if this product is only quasi-sustainable and shouldn't refer to itself as "green." This item's sustainability attributes lie in the initial manufacture, not in the entire life cycle. (Research Life Cycle Analysis or LCA.)

Though it is recycling materials like polyester, such materials are NOT biodegradable. This makes the end product (the shoe) not able to be reintegrated into the biological or technical metabolisms. This shoe's materials and embodied energy are destined to be wasted once the user is done with it.
