Summary

Used for an overnight trip to Echo Lake, Wash. Found that the pack has a lot more room than I need and I couldn't get it to compress down enough. Other than that great pack, lots of options, and fits well.

Design: ruck/bottom zip that has a zip into the top.
Size: 70+15 but I cut some of the 15 off

I have had this pack for 6-7 years. It's been submerged, dragged, and trampled. Unfortunately I was strapped to it on all of these occasions and the pack is way more durable than I am.

It's survived trail crews, I've strapped a short bar chainsaw to it, and numerous airports. I have never had it fail me and someday it will probably be cremated with me.

You can strip weight off of it by cutting off part of the extension top and re sewing the cinch. lose some webbing and swap out your buckles for additional weight drops. use the lumbar as a back support/pillow. If anyone tries to steal it, shoot them.

The compression cinch is useful don't cut it off. Ample hydration system sleeve. Its a great pack for modifying and the zippers hold up well.

If I had a choice between losing this pack and my Sundowners Vs. my car, I would rather walk and carry my load (granted you haven't seen my car).

The mesh keeps you cool but I've reworked the straps cause one rubbed where I broke my clavicle and it sticks out. I love lightweight gear but I'm of the mindset that good support is equal to third weight cut packwise.

Lose the tent, keep the supportive, breathable, shoulder paradise known as the Contour III and you will not regret it. It gives better hugs than a stripper. Salud yall.

This pack was exellent! I've taken it to the bottom of the Grand Canyon, Arizona, to the top of volcanoes in Indonesia, and lived in it for 8 months straight. It has survived incredible feats of resistance, Sumatran Rain storms, busses, airplanes, boats, ferries, the outdoors in all temperatures -40 C to + 40 C. And all this with only a few scrapes and stains. 1 slightly torn belt.

It was very comfortable, thanx to the moldable internal frame I could carry large volume and mass, yet thanx to its narrowness, I could scramble down near sheer faces in the Grand Canyon. It was easy to access, and the 15 Liter extension came in handy in Asia as I picked up souvenirs, It could grow into an 85L pack!!!

It's highly recomended, but the 2 small side pouches are difficult when your pack is stuffed full.
