Rating: rated 3.5 of 5 stars
Use: mostly indoor gym climbing and occasional bouldering day trips
Price Paid: $45

A very good shoe for an entry level climber providing good toe and heel hooks and decent edging and smearing capabilities. I wear a street 8 and bought these in 8 too as it was my first pair and did not want a painful break in period; did stretch about a half size and powerful heels hooks are difficult now...not very aggressive for climbs of upper grades...the rubber wore off the toe after 8 months of climbing 2-3 days a week (could be due to inept footwork of a beginner like myself)...DEFINITELY RECOMMEND IT FOR A BEGINNER...

The Mad Rock Shark Climbing Shoe is back, and this reincarnation is a more effective killing machine than ever before. The concave shape of the AES midsole provides a high level of sensitivity without compromising edging performance, making the Shark an ideal choice for competition climbers, hard sport routes, and elite-level bouldering. Plus, the Arch Flex system gives you a powerful glove-like fit without the pain typically experienced in a high-performance shoe.

Contrary to popular belief, the shark is a skillful climber, often leaving its watery home to devour cliffs and sink its teeth into boulder problems. This aggressive shoe offers superior grip when you're working the crux, and its resilient SupaSuede leather upper resists abrasion. Vents allow your foot to breathe during warm summer climbs.
