Magellan eXplorist 100

Rating: rated 4 of 5 stars

I have used this unit for many years. Sailing, bike riding, as even as the GPS for a car sat nav using an old palm Tungsten T3.

It's never missed a beat. Rechargeable batteries are a must, as it does chew some juice (2 x AA every 6 hours or so).

It's a little clunky to get data off - need a 3rd part cable, and some software like GPSbabel - but it's been a solid performer, quite accurate, and it just keeps on going.

Some other more expensive models do have some pretty neat features, but you pay $$$ for them....

Solid, easy to use, and a good price.
