User Review: Mammut Cerro Jacket

Mammut Cerro Jacket
Above: The current Cerro Jacket, which may differ slightly from the version reviewed.

Rating: rated 2 of 5 stars
Fabric: Schoeller WB-400 and Schoeller Dynamic (?)
Price Paid: $200

The procuct description says Schoeller WB-400. I ordered it and realized that part of the jacket was WB-400, about the top one quarter of the sleeves and some of the body panels. The rest of the jacket is, I believe, another Schoeller product called Dynamic. The WB-400 is a stretchy, abrasion resistant fabric with a very breathable (much more than Gore-Tex) film between it and the fleece on the inside. The Dynamic is just abrasion resistant, stretchy nylon.

I could not figure out what the product would be good for, not enough for colder weather and too much for warmer weather. You'd have to be going full tilt in cold weather for it to be functional, but don't stop or slow down, you'll probably freeze. Get a full WB-440 product for colder and a Dynamic product for warmer, but this mix seems rather useless. I returned it before I even tried to figure out when to use it.
